Congratulations to Chris Smith Memorial Fund grant recipient Chris Richards who recently won El Gigante Vertical Kilometer race in Gran Canaria. The race involved a climb up the San Pedro mountain with over 1.1km of vertical ascent in 5.5km. Chris, who runs for Helm Hill and Salford Harriers, was in Gran Cranaria preparing for the upcoming mountain running season. This continued a run of success this season where he has also also won the Cumbria Cross Country Championship.
